Neil Patrick Harris is gearing up to play musical theater's favorite transgender rocker from East Berlin, and we’ve got a mega-glam first look at the How I Met Your Mother Star all dragged up and ready to go. Directed by Michael Mayer, the forthcoming Broadway revival of John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask’s 1998 rock musical tells the story of an “internationally ignored song stylist” from communist East Berlin who shares stories of her life, backed by a gritty rock band.
